Oklahoma: Nick’s Law

Look for another Sooner State debate this year over a proposal, known as Nick’s Law, that would provide insurance coverage for those with autism and related conditions. The measure passed the state Senate last year, but did not make it out of the House. Proponents of Nick’s Law, says University of Oklahoma political scientist Keith Gaddie, “are organized and organizing.” One company operating in the state, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, has already begun offering such coverage.
